Carpet cleaning in Silsoe.
A proper deep clean that gets the sand out of the bottom of the pile. Silsoe is a straight run down the A6, and I don't add anything for it.

See the difference on a real carpet
★★★★★"The carpets had heavy traffic marks, general wear, and some noticeable staining, but after the clean they looked dramatically refreshed and much brighter. Mantas did a great job!"
Rebecca Stewart, Google review
The small photo is the proof. One picture, taken halfway through. Dirty side, clean side, nothing edited.

Real carpets from around Bedford and the villages. Photographed on the day, no filters.

Laima Zakariene, Google review
★★★★★"He talked us through the whole process, and the results are fantastic, the carpets look brand new. Highly recommend."

What happens on the day
No surprises. Here is exactly how a carpet clean goes.
Clear the small things off the floor and move what furniture you can manage. Anything too heavy or awkward, leave it and I'll give you a hand with it when I get there. The old High Street is narrow, so if you're on that stretch let me know and I'll come at a time when there's somewhere to stop.
We look at the rooms together and I confirm the price. Nothing starts until you are happy with it. Then I set up, which takes a few minutes.
Stay in or go out, whatever suits you. Most homes take about half a day. I work room by room so you always have somewhere to sit.
We walk round every room together. I take all my kit with me and leave the place tidy.
How I clean
your carpet
The same six steps on every job, whether it's one room or the whole house.
I check the carpet
First I find out what your carpet is made of. That tells me which products are safe to use on it.
I vacuum first
Most of the dirt in a carpet is dry. I take that out before any water goes near it.
I spray the cleaner on
The cleaner goes on and sits for a few minutes. That gives it time to loosen the dirt.
I brush it in
A machine brush works it right down to the bottom of the carpet, where the grease sits.
I rinse it out
Hot water pulls the dirt and the soap straight back out. Nothing sticky is left behind.
I comb it flat
I comb the carpet so it dries faster and looks even all over.

What Silsoe carpets are up against
Ten miles south on the A6, sat on the greensand rather than the clay you get closer to Bedford. That one difference changes what ends up in your carpet and what it takes to get it out again.
Silsoe is on the Woburn Sands, and there is a street here actually called Greensand Walk. Sandy soil doesn't smear the way clay does, so it looks harmless on the mat. It is worse. Dry sand grains are sharp, they drop straight to the base of the pile, and every step grinds them against the fibre. That is what dulls a carpet. Getting it out takes proper agitation and real suction, not a wet cloth.
The park is on the doorstep and half the village walks it. Gravel paths and mown grass leave a fine pale dust on shoes and paws that you barely notice going in. It builds up in the hall and the first metre of every room, which is exactly where visitors look. It comes out easily enough once it has been loosened, but it will not vacuum out on its own.
A large part of Silsoe went up between 2017 and 2020 on the old college land, on top of the wave that arrived in the sixties. New estates come with new carpets, and new carpets are nearly always pale. Pale carpet and sandy ground is a poor combination. Most people I speak to think theirs is finished after four or five years. Usually it isn't. It is holding soil, and it cleans up.
The High Street was the A6 until the bypass opened in 1981, and it is narrow. Parking on that stretch is tight and worth timing properly. Out on the newer closes there is a drive and plenty of space. A short hose run means stronger suction and a drier carpet, so wherever you are, the closer I can get the better the result.
Silsoe is about twenty minutes down the A6, and there's no travel charge. Being at the far end of my patch doesn't cost you more, and it doesn't put you behind anyone in town.

Questions people in Silsoe ask
If something isn't covered here, just ask. It's a one-person business, so you'll always get a straight answer.
Ask me directly. I answer every message myself, usually within the hour.
01234 634521 contact@purgebright.co.ukYes, and nothing is added for the distance. I'm in Bedford, so it's about twenty minutes down the A6 past Clophill. Silsoe is near the edge of what I cover, but the drive is my cost, not yours.
It comes down to how many rooms and what state they're in. Tell me what you need and I'll give you a price. The minimum call-out is £120. No travel charge, and no change to the number once I've quoted it.
That's the classic sandy soil job, and yes. Sand sits at the base of the pile, pushes the fibres apart and stops them catching the light properly, so the whole room goes flat. Lift the sand out and the colour comes back. If the pile itself is crushed I'll tell you, because no clean fixes that.
No. Four or five years is roughly when a pale modern carpet starts to show a walked-in path, and that path is soil rather than damage. Cleaning it before it sets in is the cheapest thing you can do for it. Leaving it another three years is how people end up replacing a carpet that had years left in it.
Hours rather than days. Most of the water comes straight back out as I go. Newer houses here dry quicker than the older High Street ones, and I'll tell you what to expect for your rooms before I get the machine out.
Usually, though it's a different job to a clean and I'd rather be straight about that. If it's on the surface it goes with the carpet clean. If it has soaked through to the underlay it needs treating properly underneath, and I'll tell you which one you've got when I see it.
Usually within the week. Give me a ring or send the rooms over and I'll tell you what's free. Half a day covers most houses, so it's one visit and then I'm out of your way.
I don't leave
until you're happy.
- Before I pack up, we walk round every room together.
- See a patch you're not happy with? I clean it again while I'm still there.
- You see the finished job before I go, so there are no surprises after.
No forms. No argument.
Also in Silsoe: sofa and upholstery cleaning, rug cleaning and mattress cleaning. Same visit if you want them done together.
