End of tenancy clean. Heavy traffic marks, general wear and staining.

    Real results

See the difference on a real carpet

"The carpets had heavy traffic marks, general wear, and some noticeable staining, but after the clean they looked dramatically refreshed and much brighter. Mantas did a great job!"

    Rebecca Stewart, Google review

The small photo is the proof. One picture, taken halfway through. Dirty side, clean side, nothing edited.

"I honestly thought a few of the high-traffic stains were permanent, but he managed to get them looking like new again. He was punctual, professional, and very careful with the furniture."

    Laima Zakariene, Google review

"He talked us through the whole process, and the results are fantastic, the carpets look brand new. Highly recommend."

    Booking me

    What happens on the day

No surprises. Here is exactly how a carpet clean goes.

    1
    Before I arrive

Clear the small things off the floor and move what furniture you can manage. Anything too heavy or awkward, leave it and I'll give you a hand with it when I get there. Stagsden is an easy one for access. Most houses have room to get the van close, which keeps the hose run short and the suction strong.

    2
    When I get there

We look at the rooms together and I confirm the price. Nothing starts until you are happy with it. Then I set up, which takes a few minutes.

    3
    While I work

Stay in or go out, whatever suits you. Most homes take about half a day. I work room by room so you always have somewhere to sit.

    4
    When I finish

We walk round every room together. I take all my kit with me and leave the place tidy.

    My method

    How I clean
    your carpet

The same six steps on every job, whether it's one room or the whole house.

Checking a carpet before cleaning it in a Bedford home
    Step 01

    I check the carpet

First I find out what your carpet is made of. That tells me which products are safe to use on it.

Vacuuming a carpet before any water is used
    Step 02

    I vacuum first

Most of the dirt in a carpet is dry. I take that out before any water goes near it.

Spraying cleaning solution onto a carpet before brushing it in
    Step 03

    I spray the cleaner on

The cleaner goes on and sits for a few minutes. That gives it time to loosen the dirt.

A machine brush working cleaner into a carpet
    Step 04

    I brush it in

A machine brush works it right down to the bottom of the carpet, where the grease sits.

Hot water rinsing dirt and soap back out of a carpet
    Step 05

    I rinse it out

Hot water pulls the dirt and the soap straight back out. Nothing sticky is left behind.

Combing a freshly cleaned carpet so it dries evenly
    Step 06

    I comb it flat

I comb the carpet so it dries faster and looks even all over.

    Stagsden

What Stagsden carpets are up against

A quiet village four miles west of town, out towards the Buckinghamshire border. Living surrounded by fields and woodland is the point of the place, and it is also the reason carpets here take more punishment than they do in town.

    The lanes Countryside comes indoors

Since the A422 took the through traffic out in 1992 the village has been properly quiet, which is lovely, and it means what surrounds you is lanes, verges and field edges rather than pavement. All of that ends up on the mat, then in the hall, then everywhere else. Clay soil is the worst of it. It dries hard, grinds into the pile like grit, and a domestic vacuum barely touches it.

Hanger Wood Wet ground most of the year

The ancient woodland just east of the village holds water long after the rain has stopped. Anyone who walks a dog through there in winter knows exactly what comes home. Wet mud is easier to deal with than most people think, as long as it is lifted properly rather than spread about with a wet cloth first.

Village houses Older floors, slower drying

Round St Leonard's, where the roads meet, the houses are older. Under the carpet there is often a solid floor rather than boards. Those hold damp for longer, so getting the water back out matters more than how much goes down. It is the difference between a carpet that is walkable by evening and one that is still cold underfoot the next morning.

Getting to you Space to work

Being out of town has one advantage on a job like this. Most Stagsden houses have somewhere to put the van close to the door, so the hose run is short. Short hose means stronger suction at the other end, which means more water comes back out and the carpet dries faster. In tight terraced streets in town I do not get that.

Stagsden is a fifteen minute drive for me, and there's no travel charge for it. Being out of town doesn't cost you anything extra, and it doesn't mean waiting longer either. I'm out that way most weeks.

Yes, and there's no extra charge for it. I'm in Bedford, so it's about fifteen minutes out on the A422. Plenty of cleaners quote more for anything past the bypass. I don't, because the drive is my problem rather than yours.

It depends how many rooms and what state they're in, so tell me what you need and I'll give you a price. The minimum call-out is £120, and being out of town doesn't add to it. You get the full price before I start and it doesn't change after.

Hours rather than days. I pull most of the water back out as I go, and being able to park close here helps, because a short hose run means stronger suction. In the older houses with a solid floor under the carpet it takes a bit longer, and I'll tell you what to expect before I start.

Usually, yes. Dried-in field mud sits in the pile rather than staining the fibre itself, so once it's properly loosened it lifts. Clay takes more work than ordinary dirt because it binds to the fibre, but it does come. What won't shift is anything that has bleached or dyed the carpet, and I'll tell you that before I start rather than after.

Move the small things off the floor if you can. Anything heavy or awkward, leave it and I'll give you a hand when I get there. It's a full day out for me either way, so there's no rush on my side.

Yes, and out here it makes more sense than most places. It saves me a second trip and saves you waiting for another slot. Tell me what you've got when you ask for the price.

Usually the same week. I'm out towards Stagsden and Bromham most weeks anyway, so it's rarely a problem to fit somewhere in. Ring me or send your details and I'll tell you what's free.
