You can walk on the carpet immediately with clean indoor shoes or socks. Avoid street shoes until the carpet is fully dry. Yes — when done correctly. Wool requires wool-safe pH-neutral chemistry and low-moisture extraction to prevent shrinkage or colour bleeding. We test colour-fastness in the pre-inspection and adjust our process for wool fibres. This is exactly why NCCA training matters — untrained operators using the wrong chemistry can permanently damage wool carpets.
The NCCA recommends every 12–18 months for most households. Homes with pets, children or high foot traffic benefit from every 6–12 months. Regular professional cleaning actually extends carpet life significantly — soil particles are abrasive and wear down fibres over time. The cost of cleaning is far less than the cost of early replacement.
Rental machines use roughly 10x less water pressure and suction than our industrial equipment.
